The Athletic posted the facial hair policy update as breaking news! It was interesting to learn more about its history in Chumps to Champs, a book that discusses George Steinbrenner extensively.
I like Roderick Arias a heck of a lot better than Lombard Jr.
Chase Hampton. Gee, another one. The Yankees have not learned or changed their medical thinking in 15 years. Manny Banuelos and James Kaprelien also after about a year, finally had TJS. Disgusting!
But my sleeper bullpen guy, as a call up instead of trading for a lefty arm, in LHP Geoffrey Gilbert looked good. Since these Developmental decision makers will push pitchers? I can see if this guy has a solid Spring, could start the season in AA.
Agreed. But as I've pointed out, this group tends to push pitchers (except for recently released Osriel Rodriguez)and hold hitters back. So why can't he be considered for callup around the trade deadline?
With all the injuries, the developmental staff must be doing something wrong. Roderick demonstrated power and speed. He struck out a lot and made many errors in the field early in the season. I agree he still has a ways to go.
It's hard to tell how bad of a problem pitcher injuries are for the Yankees farm system right now. They've only lost two or three top prospects (Beck, Hampton, Gil) to major surgeries over the last few years. They've lost more guys to just not being very good.

I agree that he looked good, but he's barely hit High-A. Lots of time.

Also, their major league staff has actually been pretty healthy compared. I think the last MLB pitcher they lost to Tommy John was Jordan Montgomery.
