Well the audit is supposed to take effect this coming season. Hopefully these type of clean house changes take place. They need to reboot the culture so they excel at baseball skills at all positions and coaching levels. They need to stop the grandstanding when it takes away from performance. They need more aggressive tactics. They need more youth and athleticism and cover all the positions offensively and defensively. The current players act like they already won championships because they wear the pinstripes. They haven’t. It takes a whole season of intensity and focus and a managerial staff that insists on it. Oh and stop the weak ass complaining about how tough NY fans are on them. Get serious and play hard every inning.

I'm sure George was spinning in his grave last night. If he was still owner, I suspect all the coaches (except Blake) would be gone this morning, as would Cashman. Actually, Cashman would have been gone a number of years ago. I think re-signing Soto is the right move but I don't see him aging well. He'll likely continue to hit but he'll likely be DH-only (perhaps bordering on Stanton-like) for the final ~5 five years of his contract. Not that that's a bad thing.

Oh I definitely don't think he'll be worth much on defense late into his 30s, but I think Soto's skillset might even get better with age. Maybe he puts a little weight on and hits for more power.

To me, it's always been, if you get rid of Cashman, Boone is gone too. Soto. I've always said minimum legit offer should be 12 year/$576M. Or to be bold, what about a 12 year/$611M offer?
