You couldn't have said it better. I am not sure that they can even fix it enough with trades at the deadline. They really dont have enough that other teams might want., which limits what they ca get. I think the late surge of Torres might attract another team, but not sure the Yankees can afford to lose his bat. All I can hope for is one strong infield bat, a strikeout reliever, and Domingues comes back soon and provides some inspiring offense. Stanton's history coming back from injury is not inspiring hope.
I wonder about the hitting coaches, too. The way most of the lineup other than Judge and Soto is struggling makes you wonder what they are doing to try to break out of these slumps (which now are no longer slumps but expected performance) and what kind of "help" they are getting which seems to lead to them pressing more.
I'm willing to give Rowson a pass for a bit. Other than Verdugo and Torres, I'm not sure who I would point to as performing well below expectations. Maybe Volpe, but we don't have a good baseline for him yet.
DJ? Cabrera? Rice? Davis? Rice has looked lost recently after starting off strong. I realize other teams adjust to new players and that plays a part in it, but he looks much less comfortable than he did when he first came up. Cabrera and Volpe both started strong then faded. I guess I'm comparing the early season Yanks to the current iteration. Regression to the mean and all that...
DJ used to be. Others, I dunno. Perhaps this is just a bad team. In my nearly 70 years of being a Yankees fan, I am used to disappointment. There's always next year. 😉
My question is always, "Would this guy be better with a random hitting coach?" For LeMahieu, Rizzo, Stanton, etc, I think age is a more likely cause of their downturns. Would any of them get a contract for more than the league minimum if they were free agents? Maybe Stanton after his hot June. The others are only on the roster because of their contracts.

Stanton and Dominguez should help, but this is brutal.

Are any of them any good? I'm not sure.
